URGELL ON THE PALATE

PASSION FOR THE EARTH AND THE LAND

FINCA COMA LA CALMA

In 2014, we acquired a family farm estate where olive trees used to be grown and which was then planted with cereal, with the aim of returning to the traditional cultivation of Arbequina olives and producing an oil of supreme quality.

The estate is in a valley located between two small mountains that shelter it and make up the characteristic landscape of the territory, with olives coexisting among pines, almond trees, oak trees and aromatic plants (thyme, rosemary, lavender). The tranquility and serenity that the landscape exudes and the extensive horizons that can be contemplated, which justify the name “Finca Coma La Calma” (The Calm Valley Farm Estate).

The Process

We Harvest

KARAT d'Urgell is the fruit of great care, enthusiasm and passion. We harvest early, when the olives are green and have not yet matured, to make an intense green oil with accentuated flavors and aromas.

01

We transport

We transport the olives directly to the mill and press them at a low temperature, the very same day, to prevent oxidation and guarantee the oil's quality.

02

We produce

In less than eight hours, the olives have been transformed into an exquisite juice, real liquid gold.

03

PRODUCT

The result is an exceptional oil, an intoxicating blend with notes of tomato, artichoke, almond and fennel. Its personality is distinct with a slightly bitter and spicy final taste, the fruit of a early harvest, which enhances the flavors of any food it accompanies.
